Your Road to Wellness: What to Expect

Bowenwork® stimulates the body by gentle, specific moves, supporting the body to reset back to its original patterns of balance and health. Bowenwork is appropriate for all ages, from infants to the elderly, and offers benefits to every level of well-being:

  • Deep relaxation
  • Stress release
  • Boosts energy
  • Acute injury and chronic problems
  • Immune system support
  • Musculoskeletal issues
  • Enhances organ efficiency & assimilation

First sessions are about 1.5 hours and include an assessment and personal health history.

Please print out and complete the New Patient Intake Form and bring it with you to your first appointment.

  • Please wear or bring light, loose fitting, comfortable cotton clothing
  • Drink water – hydration assists your body to realign easier and faster

A unique modality, neither similar to nor derived from any other hands-on modality and unlike other hands-on disciplines, Bowenwork does not manipulate the body imposing correction. Bowenwork is performed lying down on a treatment table. Most moves are done through light, soft clothing. If lying down is too uncomfortable, treatments may be performed effectively in a chair.

A single session may provide a deep sense of well-being, generally a series of sessions may be needed to gain long-lasting results. Chronic conditions may require regular sessions over an extended period. As results are gained and maintained, “tune-ups” may assist in long-term balance. Follow-up sessions are typically one hour. Occasionally, sessions may require extra time for processing and integration, or discussions regarding lifestyle and health enhancements.

Bowenwork continues to work in your body 5-7 days after your session. To receive the most benefit from your Bowenwork session, we suggest refraining from other bodywork, in particular, physical manipulations (i.e. massage, chiropractic) for at least 5 days before and after. Please plan your schedule with this in mind.

Healing requires the willingness and commitment to make changes to enhance our well-being.
